My best friend in the world lost his battle with the most terrible and cruel disease on the face of the planet, Degenerative Myelopathy. I noticed Cyber wasn't eating his food on Tuesday night. He has never turned down his chow in the 13 years he has blessed me with his presence. He even refused a piece of turkey sausage at breakfast the next morning. I rushed him to our pet clinic where we have been taking him for his acupuncture treatments and the vet said his gums were almost white and he had blood in his urine. Her best diagnosis was a ruptured spleen which would require immediate surgery. My poor baby couldn't handle this kind of trauma considering at this point in the progression of his already fatal disease, he could no longer walk without me holding him erect with a strap I fashioned that attached to the front of his cart. Cyber fought this disease like a trooper without even a whimper for over three years. I carried him in my arms up two flights of stairs twice a day for over a year. I discussed every possible option with Cybers very caring doctors and they both said that it was his time to move on, so at 3pm EST on Wednesday July 1, 2009, I held my precious little man in my arms as he fell limp and I witnessed Cyber running across the Rainbow Bridge with a tiny fairy on his powerful shoulders doing his favorite thing in the world, chasing sheep in the meadow. Rest In Peace my son. Your little heart will beat in my chest until I draw my last breath. Love forever, your Dad.
