Stella turned 6 months old today, so I thought I'd write an update on her. She is growing every day and probably weighs around 17-18 pounds already! She is halfway through her first round of obedience-puppy kindergarten- and doing really well. She picks everything up really fast! She's my first Corgi and I just can't believe how smart they are! There's an agility class coming up, and I hope I can start her in some basics. She has so much energy and is really athletic, so I think she'd enjoy it. She might miss it though, because in two weeks she has her operation to get spayed. I'm already nervous!
I think (and hope) that she is ending her super teething phase. I think she's lost all of her teeth--I found six of them! Her teeth are a lot bigger and stronger, now. She's started gutting her stuffed animals in minutes! She really likes bully sticks and hooves. I do, too, since they last longer. I'm going to look into buying the antlers that I hear everyone on the site talking about. She also continues to eat everything in site and always seems hungry. I've NEVER had a dog that considered its kibble a "treat" but Stella goes as crazy for her regular food as she does for special treats! She's also doing better socializing with other dogs. She plays with my roommate's dog now, and they get along and have a lot of fun!
Like I mentioned, she's my first Corgi, and I was a little nervous about getting one since I wasn't familiar with the breed. I researched Corgis for 6 months or so before I got her to make sure it would be a compatible breed, but still, nothing compares to owning one. I am SO happy that I got her! She's bold, sweet, smart, and energetic! I also love how Corgis seem like they are smiling all the time! She's also calming down a little and showing her personality rather than just "crazy puppiness" all the time. I can't wait to see her grow into an adult!
