Lyla, the Flying Corgi

Lyla discovered something amazing yesterday... if she climbs up on to the arm of the sofa, and really coils her corgi springs tight, and times it just right, she can jump all the way from the couch to the loveseat (a good 2-3 feet at least). It's very impressive! I can almost see on her face the self-talk she must be doing inside her head as she psychs herself up to jump. "Okay, it's a really long way away, but I can do it. I've done it before. I'm scared. No I'm not! I'm a big girl. I can make it. Okay, on 3, 1..2...3... GO!" I haven't been able to get a picture yet, but if I do, this will be the first place it goes!

Comment by Derek on September 22, 2009 at 7:52am: Miranda used to do that until she tore a ligament. It looks cute, but corgi legs can get screwed up, so I would just be careful. Miranda was on Glucosamin for a year and her leg has never been the same. That stereotypical old football injury kind of walk.
