Tonight I did something unforgivable, something that no nice, respectable pet owner would ever do... I brought a hula hoop into the living room! I know, I know, I'm horrible.

The way Lyla acted you would have thought I was getting ready to put her in the garbage disposal. I wasn't even asking her to get near it and already she was hiding behind the couch. Sky was having fun jumping in and out of it so I started coaxing Lyla toward it. She walked up to it in her "I'm the 'scaredest' little Corgi in the world" way she has about her when she encounters something new. I praised her for sniffing it and started tapping on the opposite side to see if she'd walk through. One foot timidly stepped over, then another, then the two back feet hopped through as quick as they could manage. Then what does she do? She ran straight over to Sky's bed, squated and peed everywhere!! I don't know if she was just that scared or if she was trying to get me back for being mean enough to even ask her to walk through the big scary hula hoop (I swear I didn't force her to either, all I did was coax and she did it on her own).

So... thanks Lyla, your brother Sky really wanted a bed that smelled like pee. (Or maybe he paid her off to do that since she got a nice new fluffy bed a few weeks ago and his is old and flat. Perhaps this was all just a ploy so that I would buy him a new fluffy bed too) I LOVE MY DOGS!

Aww.... poor Lyla. Beni is a little timid around new things too. I bought him a soccer ball and he barked at it for a few hours until I smeared peanut butter on it. He and the ball have been friends ever since.
