i didn't want to say anything earlier until we knew it was official, can't STAND counting chickens before they hatch or making grand proclamations about what we're gonna do with winnings before knowing for certain or not. but now that we know, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! SO HAPPY!!
thank you, thank you, thank you so much tumblr (and mycorgi.com) and all our friends and family who voted. it was rough, especially with the entirety of corgi nation on facebook voting against us.
anyhow, we replied to the contest e-mail and are in the process of reaching out to my personal favorite, and most-loved rescue organization that is right in our hometown: PittieLoveRescue
machete is going to pick at least one toy (depending on how many we get, i may let him pick two) and the rest we're going to donate. to pittie love rescue - for use in shelters, for foster pups to play, for however they see fit.
yes, we love corgis so hard, and so much, and everyone knows i have full-blown obsessive corgi disorder, but pitties need love too. and they're adorable, and given a bad (totally FALSE!!) rap. and honestly, machete has a bajillion toys, so it's not like he NEEDS these winnings, you know?
anyway, from the bottom of our hearts thank you! thank you so much!

there was a comment on here perpetuating a stereotype and breed discrimination. while we appreciate the congrats, and thank you...that's not what we're about. we're 100% against BSL and breed discrimination or anything that perpetuates the myth of the "pit bull" (which doesn't even exist, there is no such thing as a pit bull) and no matter what dog may or may not attack another dog/person/friends/things it's almost always 100% the fault of the human and i don't believe dogs deserve punishment for the actions of human beings. even the phrase "overmatched owners" points to it not being the dog's fault.
it's unfortunate that the incident happened. but this was supposed to be a happy, celebratory post, and i don't want that mood squelched. and don't want this to be a platform to malign a group of breeds undeservedly.
everyone is entitled to their own opinions no matter how uninformed, but it's a completely unnecessary addition to this post. thank you.

Congratulations!!!! Pits have a bad rap for sure. When Max was with his first family his best friend was a pit.
