We feel he has a stomach virus. We are waiting out the weekend to see how he does early next week. We realize he is old, and takes longer to get over minor ailments.

I know this sounds bad, but we have no extra money to go to the vet. Hubby is out of unemployment, and all the companies in he area have laid off up to 30 years seniority. Our area is hit hard. In an effort to get out of manufactuing, he passed the Realator Sales Agent Bar exam a couple weeks ago, but has not sold anything yet. He is still in training. Our income is very limited, to mine only and our savings is dry. Extended unemployment benefits are not automatic. You apply 3 weeks before you end the normal, but you don't hear a disposition for at least 21 days after the normal unemployement ends. grrr. Hubby was hired and laid off 3 jobs in the last couple 2 years, when the companies did a mass layoff.

I have been at peace, knowing this could be the end for our Myles, but Hubby is having a hard time with this yet. Right now, Myles is his reason to keep going. Although we do not think this issue is life threatening.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Gosh I'm so sorry. I know animals don't like to show it when they're in pain and they try when you try. You had a brave little dog there! I'm glad you did take him to the vet so he could have a more peaceful, less painful passing. You did the right thing but I am VERY sorry for your loss. But I'm glad he has some friends in heaven already. :) Best wishes to your family!

we broke down and brought Myles to the vet. He was doing a good job hiding that he was suffering. Blood was drawn. His kidney function numbers were so high, the machine could not read them. And other numbers were at the fatal range. We decided he lived a long life, and we did not want to see him suffer any longer. He is now in heaven with Harley the bulldog, Ming and Ebony the kitties. It was a difficult decision but it was the right one. Thanks for all of your support.

thanks, we are trying our best to keep him drinking and hydrated. He is eating but small amounts. He is drinking normal to more than normal. and all those body functions are working normal. He is getting better. I just ran to the store to get him some canned food. He normally eats dry mixed with water.

Glad he's feeling better or at least starting too. Mine have had the stomach flu before as well. It's tough on them I know! Just keeping them hydrated is all you can do until it passes.

Thank you everyone for your support. Myles has a few moments of "running" on his own, and even managed to eat a bit. Looks like he is on his way to better days!
