It has been a long sad ride to recovery. I look for Myles almost every day. I know he is in a better place, but it does not make things easier. Our Papillon, Madison, is having a really hard time. She still looks for him all the time. She is not resting well. She hops from daddy's lap to mommy's lap and back. Or turns circles trying to find something to do. Her appitite has decreaase. She surely misses her big brother... even those extra walks and visits to the spa (groomer) don't help.

To remedy this we are looking for a young, 3 yrs or less, rescue Pembroke, brother or sister. This is the quickest way to get her a companion again.

When we lost our little Buffy unexpectedly I went out and got a puppy within a week. I had not really planned on it but the breeder had a 3 month old pup left that sounded perfect. Sparty, our other corgi. was ok with her but did not really play with her at first. I think it was a little too soon for him. Your other dog may seem depressed but she probably needs time too. Fortunately our puppy,Izzy, did turn out to be perfect although it took Sparty almost a year before he would play with her. Good luck with your new addition when you get him or her. They can never replace the one you lost but it does help to have a fun new one.

awesosme poem. thank you. it sure brought tears to my eyes when I read it. but it said everything I cannot say but wanted to say. Each day it gets easier, and I am looking forward to finding a new friend very soon. I will keep everyone informed when I find a few corgi to bring home.

---I feel you. Someone showed me this poem when I lost my best friend:
And why I've loved you all these years... my partner til the end...
Please understand just what this gift
You’re giving meant to me,
It gives me back the strength I’ve lost
And all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf,
For that is what friends do,
And know that what you do is right,
For I believe it too.

So one last time I breathe your scent,
And through your hand I feel,
The courage that’s within you,
To now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here,
Dear friend and let me run,
Once more a strong and steady dog
My pain and struggle done.

And I don’t despair my passing,
For I won’t be far away,
Forever here within your heart,
And memory I’ll stay.

I’ll be there watching over you,
Your faithful friend,
And in your memories I’ll run
…A young dog once again.

thanks for all of your support. It is a very difficult time for all of us. awe what a sweet offer by Tauna and Kota. Boise is a little too far from Wisconsin. I am looking to find a rescue locally. Then, when my favorite bitch, Riah, has pups this fall, we plan on getting one of her pups too. Riah is a good friend of mine's corgi. I am cogi addicted for sure. My husband and I could wait for the pup, but Madison is so lonely it is affecting her life. she needs a companion.

There is a 2 year old tri colored female on craigslist in boise. You can search it on craigslist.com. If you were to get her, I could take her to you if you pay for my gas money... I hope you continue to recover from your loss.

Oh, I can so relate to what you are experiencing. We have been missing our Cobi since March 17th and we are always doing things or finding things around the house that remind us of him. We aren't crying as much and we are starting to be able to talk about him and the happy times we had with him. We still miss him terribly but have also started talking about finding a corgi soon. We can't replace Cobi but we would like to have more corgis to share our lives with. I hope your heart continues to heal and that you find a new companion soon. gail
