Hello everyone,

My bf and I are getting a puppy, we're soooo excited. But we don't get along in picking a name, so far we've got: Pem. That's really the only name we both like.

We're Belgian, so not every english name sounds right ofcourse. But suggestions are welcome though! We're looking for a short name, max. 2 syllables.

21st of March we're going to pick her up, can't wait.

Jane is right about thinking of 2 names that are kind of opposite of each other in meaning.  We usually wait a few days to get an idea of the animal's (dog or cat) personality before we settle on a name.  We had one cat that we choose a name for having to do with him looking like a black panther...he ended up being Spider because of his love for climbing on top of things.  Another red cat was going to be Clancy and ended up Bubba....cause his personality was a total Bubba.

You might want to have 2 names picked also...one of my females didn't "fit" her name we picked so we went back to one of the others that we had liked instead.

There are a lot of great welsh names. Our boys are Chepstow (welsh town/castle) and Tenby (beautiful seaside village) We lost Tenby earlier this month but he is still my boy.

Max is one of the top 10 dog names right now.  I have a Max but he is almost 13.  A short name is usually best, too many syllables in their name can get confusing for them.   Check some Welsh names.

You could look up Welsh names/meanings. That's how we named Wynn.
