Natural dog food isn't always healthy dog food?!

Vets say natural dogs foods are not always healthy dog foods.

I thought this article was interesting because it highlights that it's important to get past the buzzwords in dog foods like "Natural" and "Holistic" and really get into the nitty gritty of what is in your dog's food and what your dog is getting out of it.

Right-o Jane.
Also, lots of things are natural that aren't particularly good for your dog. I could load a food full of organic, natural corn and slap natural and organic on the label and it really wouldn't be good for your dog...

I think all those "labels" whether for people or animals really need to be read. Natural really means nothing and is not regulated but many people believe since it says natural it is! Thanks for pointing this out!

I definitely think that good natural doggy food is VERY important. Specifically, a meat product HAS TO BE THE FIRST INGREDIENT!!!!! I work at a natural foods store, and I fed our PWC a food that was very rich with many different kinds of meats, and it didn't work for him. It was too rich. It doesn't need to be $400 dollars a bag, but I think that a good quality food with meat as first ingredient (unless your dog needs to follow a vegetarian diet) is important.

Also, give your dogs vegetables!!!!!! Dogs can eat any vegi (just NEVER ONIONS!!!) and the corgi's that i know, enjoy the vegis!!! And, let them be dogs!!! Our little guy gets some good quality raw meat once in a while. This feeds their primal appetites.
