Hello,
After we lost our 1 year old Pemmy in a traffic accident, which we were OBVIOUSLY heartbroken from, we decided to get another puppy. We loved Pemmy so so so much and she made our lifes complete. The house is empty and quiet now. A house is not a home without a dog, without a corgi!
So here's the new pup we will be adopting in 2 to 3 weeks. She's a cardigan and not a Pembroke. The breeder tells us she will be a blonde, not a deep red one like her mother (last picture). She also thinks the black on the nose is going to dissapear. What do you guys think? What colors will she have?
I'm afraid i'm constantly going to compare her to our perfect Pemmy. Will she be as pretty, as loving, as crazy?
Are cardigans a lot different to pembrokes?

Hopelessly cute. You're doomed now! :-D
Pembroke colors can change a LOT as the pooch grows out of early puppyhood. Ruby the (former) Corgi Pup looked to me like she would be a sable, but the breeder swore she would turn into a classic red. And yup...that's what she is now. Apparently experienced breeders reach a point where they can tell pretty accurately what the dog's ultimate color pattern will be. By the time the dog reaches that age, though, it's too late: it has you trapped and you don't care what color it is!
Oh, she's adorable! I don't know if she'll lose the black or not. I know some Pembrokes have a black smudge mark on their muzzles, but I don't know about Cardigans.
I think it can be hard not to compare when you lose a beloved pet. I hope that she is wonderful but totally different from your beloved pup that you lost so you love her in completely new ways.
Cardigans are meant to be more reserved than Pembrokes, but Bev Levy says her Watson is a total goofball!
