So as many of you have read Molly is in heat which means that she is spending a lot of time alone out in the sun room. I am not sure if this is harder on me or her. We have only had her for a month but during that time she has always been with me unless I had to go to town or something like that otherwise when I am home she is in the house with me and she sleeps with me at night. Every time I walk out into the other room she starts wriggling all over and is so happy to see me and then gives me this look when I leave and tell her she has to stay like "what!?" Breaks my heart every time. I spent an hour last night trying to figure out how to make sure she was going to be warm enough all night out there because there isn't any heater vents or anything. It finally dawned me - put her crate in my room and then she is at least inside where it is warm and still near me. She was very good and didn't make any noise all night but she kept looking out the crate door at me with this look on her face.....poor thing. Especially since all the other dogs did sleep on the bed with me last night. The kids all slept in the living room so the dogs that usually each sleep with a kid took advantage of getting to sleep with mom instead. It is gonna be a long three weeks. I thought of sending Levi to my brother's but he sleeps with my daughter at night and it is about the only way I can avoid a huge bedtime scene with her and have to listen to her all night complain of being scared if he isn't with her. So hopefully Molly will forgive me the separation and I will just keep packing her crate back and forth between my room and the sun room every day.
