Hello to all the Corgi people!  I will be getting our first Corgi puppy in 2 days, after much anticipation!  I've wanted a Corgi for over 20 years, and now is the time.  I've noticed that many Corgi families can't "have just one" in their house!  Seems like it's a common progression in Corgi-land!  I have promised my husband and myself that I'd be a "one-dog" home....question:  Will I end up breaking my word?  Ha ha....all of you one-Corgi peeps....I need some support and feedback here!

Thanks!

Kathleen

They're so well behaved and smart that it's hard to say no to #2 but you gotta think about the vet bills the shots and yearly check ups and more shots. the $ that ought to make you think twice about getting a 2nd one! lol

Ahhh!  Thanks for all the one-dog support!!!!  Ha ha!!  I am doomed!  So funny!  Well....for now, I will train and love the little bundle that comes home on Wednesday.  I read the great article from Sam (thank you, Sam), and know that it is something that will be decided with time and patience...also circumstances in a year or so.  I honestly can see how it could become "addictive" as all of you say!  I just have to keep in mind a few things, like traveling with my hubby when he goes on business.  Two dogs are tougher to take.  BUT, who knows??  Also, Cody has several doggie neighbors here that will end up being his friends, I'm sure.  I plan to have him well-trained, and well-socialized.  He is going to be the center of attention around here...but NOT a brat...not if I can help it!  So much love to pour on this little fur ball.  I can hardly wait until Wednesday!  Thank you for all your comments...totally appreciated!

Our Chepstow would have prefered to be an only child.  But Tenby was a rescue and we just couldn't leave him. Two is harder to find petsitters, traveling, food bills, vet bills but.............double corgi love is worth it.

You'll end up with two...or three...

They are just absolutely adorable dogs.  I always wanted one too, and when I got Seanna, she made me realize how much I had been missing.  My husband is always saying "NO MORE!", but he's admitted the corgis are his favorite dogs.  He loves the "big dog" personality, even though they are little.  If your husband has even one soft spot in his heart, you will end up with two...or three....

Corgi's are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

Congratulations:)  Maybe in a year or longer when your little one is trained you can suggest that "2 corgis would be sooooo much fun" as we could each walk one but could still walk them alone if needed...that's what happened to us several years ago...and several corgis ago:) Do make sure he learns to like other dogs.

We like having two that way there is one that thinks I am the greatest and one the thinks my husband is the greatest! I waited until the first was 1 1/2 years before adding and it worked well. If you have the time and money it is a great way to go but it does cost more!
