Scared and hiding!

This morning we were all in the kitchen getting breakfast and feeding the pets.  Our electric bissell broom fell over and made a loud crash right next to where we were.  Nobody was hit by it, just startled us.  Cody was there waiting for his food.  This broom is there all the time, gets used frequently, and has never been a problem.  Well....he took off upstairs and hid in our closet.  It's been almost 2 hrs. now.  I've physically carried him down, put him at his bowl, and he turns, looks…See More

About Me:
I am bringing home our first Corgi puppy in two days! Cody will be our first pup in over 25 years. We are well-prepared, and have been anticipating his birth and homecoming for months. So excited!!!!
UPDATE: Cody has been home for 3 weeks now! Today is Nov. 16th. Since he turned 8 weeks old, he has been able to "sit, stay, and come" on command! He can fetch and is nearly housebroken. So SMART!!! We just love him to pieces! It's going to be a great adventure!

My husband, Tommy, and I are empty-nesters. Our oldest son is married with 3 boys, and our youngest son is serving in the intellegence dept. of the U.S. Army. I no longer work outside the home, so I have plenty of time to dedicate to proper training. I hope to have Cody be the most well-behaved dog in the world! We plan to take him with us on bike rides, some traveling, and lots of walks. He will be socialized with other dogs too! Love this website!

UPDATE: Now that Cody is 11 weeks old, he can do so many things! So very smart. He's been home for 3 weeks and can "sit, stay, and come" on command. He can fetch and is almost completely housebroken. LOVE CODY!!!!

Hello from Nevada! Pippin sends you corgi kisses!

Cody is a doll! I love the black markings outlining his white on his muzzle! They are so smart. Pippin has learned to come and sit, sit and wait for her food until I say OK! She only comes when she is in the house. That's another story if she is outside! Way to much to expore to worry about coming !!

Thanks for the kind words Kathleen! You're the best! Pups due March 15th so I'll be in touch for those babysitting services, ha ha. Wow, every time I look at Cody's photo, now that he's a big boy, I see Panda's expression looking back! It's like looking at my son and seeing my dad... so rewarding. You and Cody will always be family, too! See you soon! Hugs to Cody!

Welcome, Kathleen!  You come to the right place to learn about Corgis and Corgi addition.  Be warned though, there is no cure.

Hi Kathleen,

Max and Rosie are our 4 legged kids, so we'll still have our "kids" in common. That will be fun if you have a Corgi next year and go to the Corgi Fun Day with us.

Funny that Geri & Sidney mentioned the meetup group. We've been trying to do that too.

Welcome Kathleen...we're just up the road from you in Vista. Once you get a corgi you should join the San Diego corgi meetup group. :)

One Corgi?!

Posted on October 24, 2011 at 9:02am 15 Comments

Hello to all the Corgi people!  I will be getting our first Corgi puppy in 2 days, after much anticipation!  I've wanted a Corgi for over 20 years, and now is the time.  I've noticed that many Corgi families can't "have just one" in their house!  Seems like it's a common progression in Corgi-land!  I have promised my husband and myself that I'd be a "one-dog" home....question:  Will I end up breaking my word?  Ha ha....all of you one-Corgi peeps....I need some support and feedback…
