About 10 mins ago I found my puppy Oona eating a cadbury "caramello" bar.

Started apply peroxide/water right away.

Have the emergency vet on speed dial if we need.

Cross fingers, say prayers, send out good thoughts for us please.

Plus, a lot of it is caramel, so that helped, I'm sure.

One night the cats knocked a pound box of Godiva (yeah, the good stuff!) that one of my husband's students gave him, off his desk. Chester (16 year old Lab/dane) ate it all and didn't share with Sidney or Bruce. He of the cast-iron stomach had no ill effects whatsoever, except me crying at him for eating such good chocolate and I didn't get any!

Been there, done that with dark chocolate - 2 bags of it.  Had to go to the Vets as MaGuire had done a lot of vomiting and couldn't stand up or stop shaking.  He recovered, but foil wrappers came out both ends for a couple of days.  Didn't learn his lesson as he took the opportunity to check out my purse and eat a piece if I forgot and left it on the floor.

I do miss my candy bar... T-T

Everything is fine now! After vomiting (1,000,000 times) she settled down for a 20 min nap and woke up like nothing happened. Little stinker!

I wasn't sure the affects chocolate would have on a puppy who is only 9 pounds, so I am relieved that everything worked out ok.

I hope you told her of, I mean that caramello bar was your desert I am sure.

She should be fine.  My Rocky ate 3/4 of large hersey bar when he was 8 mos. old----vet said baker's chocolate or dark chocolate  more dangerous( but the dog would have to eat about 1 lb.chocolate for 20 lbs. dog before  serious things occur.)    I didn't give Rocky anything just watched him.   He was very spastic & hyper that day though---jumped over the baby gate 3 times---LOL   They do love chocolate though so keep it high up---they are little sneaks!   Hope your pup feels better soon!

I agree should probably fine. They really have to eat a lot and like Stephanie said dark chocolate is much worse then milk chocolate.

Great, it sounds like you got it out of her.  What strength of peroxide did you use?

So much vomit ...but we got to breakfast!

Now my backyard looks like a chocolate fluff fairy vomited all over... oh wait...

Will probably be fine - caramello is milk chocolate - much less dangerous than dark chocolate.
