How deep Orion sleeps is definitely working out to be a fantastic quality. There was an outrageous storm tonight with roaring thunder, buckets of rain, and a few hours of power outage but since Orion had fallen asleep before it started he slept through the entire thing. Another good thing about it is that he can fall asleep anywhere in the house and I can easily transfer him to his kennel and he has no idea that anything happened. He's fitting in the family very nicely and I'm finally starting to be able to see the signs of when he needs to go out to potty. He sleeps through majority of the night too which is excellent compared to my last puppy experience. My brother and his wife were here for christmas and had just gotten their pup, Finnebar, and he slept in his crate in my room since the five cats are in love with my brother's room and we didn't want to displace them. He whined and cried majority of the night and I got very little sleep, so Orion is doing much better than I expected. Finnebar is now six months old and he visits frequently but I hover over them while they play because Finn is like ten times bigger than Orion and I'm afraid he might get hurt on accident. Owning a dog is definitely going to change my life and I am already absolutely in love with my little Orion.

Gorgeous pup.
I'm 57 years old now, and experiencing the sleep disturbances most people do at this age -- wake up multiple times, always in a dream, difficulty getting back into deep sleep -- I'd convinced myself there was something seriously wrong with me until I found out this is excruciatingly normal. Corgi Therapy helps me fall back asleep -- something about that deep imperturable furry slumber is contagious -- so I grab Al or Gwynn at the foot of the bed and drag them up for Teddy Bear Duty, and this doesn't even wake them up. Al remains totally limp, liquid, and he can remain this deeply asleep with his eyes open, I think.
The only time I can sleep that soundly is at Work. :-)
They usually end up back at the foot of the bed though -- I must smell bad or something...

so adorable!! he sure is a cutie:) i am very happy for u, potty training will take take time but u will be able to tell when ever he has to to out, in my experience after ten minuets of eating he will have to go out. u sound like a wonderful corgi mommy and if u need any advice we are all here for u:) and i know what u mean about him sleeping through the night, the person we got her from said teddy loved sleeping in kennels already so when it was time for bed, he never maid a peep! lol
