I have noticed since last Wednesday when we had to evacuate because of the pending bushfires I have noticed that Oscar & Sam seem to be different?. They seem to be very clingy and stick by you wont let you out of their sight!. Maybe it's nothing or as I put in my post title Paranoia or??. I know animals sense things but do I have anything to worry about??

My 2 know when I am anxious about things. Two years ago when my area was devasted by TS Irene and then Lee a week later they were glued to me and very subduded. It took them a few days to settle down. Last year when Sandy hit I was a wreck before it hit fearing the worst again....it did not cause as much damage in my area as the year before...but they were again subduded, quiet and glued to me reacting to what they felt.
My dogs pick up on my anxiety...maybe yours are sensing something different or even if the fires are close that they can smell this?
Many animals sense danger and it's hard to tell what your dogs in particular are sensing. We also experience fires and evacuations in our area, but I never noticed any difference in behavior in either our 3 dogs, or our cat. We were prepared to leave at a moment's notice for about a week and the fire came to within a mile of our home, but both myself and my husband were calm about it. The animals may be reacting to the worry of the people around them and that would make them feel insecure and more clingy. Nothing to worry about, it will pass in due time. Stay safe!
