Well this isn't corgi-related, but we lost my family dog Patches on Friday.  He was almost 17 and we raised him from a puppy when I was in 3rd grade. He was my childhood companion and I can't believe he's gone.

When I was in 2nd grade I prayed to God for a dog. I knew it was almost impossible since my parents were totally against us getting a dog. But in September 1994, God put a stray puppy in our yard and added an unforgettable part of our family...thank you Patches for being an incredible friend.

Thank you for sleeping on my pillow next to me every night so I wouldn't be scared of the boogie man or ghosts.

Thank you for helping us sing "Happy Birthday" every time with your howls.

Thank you for protecting me.

Thank you for eating all the gross stuff from dinner that I didn't want to eat.

Thank you for teaching me how to care for another life.

Thank you for tolerating me pulling you onto my lap and snuggling you.

Thank you for showing up just when I needed you.

Thank you for being my best friend.

You have my condolences, Jenna, over the loss of your pal Patches.   It really doesn't matter whether or not he was a Corgi, he was your dog and you and your family loved him and everyone that's ever lost a beloved pet understands how you grieve over his passing.
