Miso was doing REALLY good at crate training, didn't have any problems ever...then, last night, she went potty in her kennel (right when I was about to go to bed). She got a bath, and her kennel got scrubbed down good with some stain and odor remover, same goes for her toys. When I go to take her out, right as I'm opening the door she piddles on the carpet (REMINDER TO SELF: Shampoo carpet!) I get woken up this morning to my husband telling me that she's peed in her kennel, AGAIN. So I clean it up, and we just dump some water on her where she was laying in the pee.

The kennel is certainly not too big. She can stretch out and turn around, and that's it! When she does pee in her crate, she ends up laying in it. I feed her in her crate, she gets all of her good things in that crate...yet she still pees in there!

I'm starting to think she has a urinary tract infection, though. When she does go pee, she sometimes ends up with what looks like pus hanging from her little pee-hairs. So, instead of taking her to the vet on Friday, I'm going to take her tomorrow (I would bring her TODAY if I didn't have to work!), and I'm going to make sure he takes a look at that. They requested a pee sample, but I have NO CLUE how to collect a pee sample from my puppy. Can't very well hold a cup under her short little butt!

I worry so much for my baby girl. And as bad as it sounds, I hope it's just a urinary tract infection that makes it difficult for her to hold it in, because she'll just need to take medicine for that!

My little girl's been having the same issue except her urine was really dark and foul smelling. I collected a sample and found that her pH was elevated in her urine and they put her on amoxicillan 150mg for a week.

To get a urine sample, you wait until the stream has started and put a ladle under them to catch the urine. When Lily was very small I had to use a gravy ladle. Bigger dogs, soup ladle works great.
