Puppy names and introducing to current dogs.

So all of my ideas for puppy names have been shot down so far. If I like it, someone else in my family doesn't. If they all like it, I *hate* it. It's getting really frustrating because they're trying to be silly and joking around, which is fine every once and a while, but naming a puppy is a lot like naming a baby. I figure I just won't know until I meet her in person.

So far the next runners up (by that I mean the family hates them the least) are Ivy or Meela.

I am open for suggestions!

Look at her adorable little socks on her feet!

I'm still sooo excited to get her! We're setting up the laundry room for her so she'll have a quiet place away from my other dog and cats.

Does anyone have any suggestions about introducing the puppy and my current corgi? I heard that it needs to be done on "neutral" territory, so somewhere from our property? Is there anything else I should know?

Thanks!

I like "Demi", which can mean "half"

We introduce new dogs out in front of the house, and take a short walk together. I've heard this reinforces the idea of "we're a pack". Then we go into the house keeping everyone on leash. New guy goes in a separate area with a baby gate up. They could see and smell each other but not get into a spat. We would sit by the gate and share treats with everyone, so they came to know "new guy = good stuff". We'd keep the gate up for a week or so, slowly increasing supervised together-time until we were confident all was going well. Good luck!

What type of a name are you looking for? Welsh maybe? I was on a website that had Welsh girl names...Mali (Molly in English) means beloved. Mari (Mary) also means beloved. Wynne, blessed, fair. Cadi, pure. Ceri, to love. THis is a beautiful little girl...is she a blue?

She is as cute as can be so what ever you name her will be great. I never did the neutral spot with either of the puppies I brought home to Sparty. He did great both times. You might want a blanket or towel that she has slept on to bring home first so your other corgi can get used to her smell. Chances are he will like a playmate.
