Saturday Morning Sleeping in with two Corgis!

I get up early 4:00am on weekdays and so on the weekend I look forward to sleeping in a little. This is how my Saturday morning went today… Sally heard me tossing around at 3:30 or so and decided she wanted out of the bedroom to lie in bathroom on the floor where the ac vent is cool. I get up and open the door and go back to lie down. Then remember I should be sure that the board with weights on the floor in the living room is in place so she doesn’t find the spot she likes to pull at the braided rug. I go back to bed again. Around 5:00 Bucher, who sleeps on the bed with me, starts changing positions and I feel him staring at me, shaking so his collar to make noise and eventually comes up and lays his head on my chest and moves it around so it is really several head butts to the chest! Upon hearing my “ouch stop that” Sally in the living room now starts to remove the bedding in her kennel and bark!

I give up and start my morning routine for feeding them. (5:00 am which is when they usually eat!) I am trying to get them on the same food so I have to mix the old with the new and I also add some K-9 Crumbles and some organic yogurt along with water to slow Bucher down and to be sure Sally gets more fluid.

Bucher finishes first and so he get to go out to go potty which being a big boy he has down! I then hide a tiny natural dog biscuit around one of the toys for Boo and get ready for Sally’s walk. She doesn’t like to go poo in our yard! This means, as it is still dark, I am armed with doggie bag & flash light to be able to see to pick up the poo.

Now they are happy and sleeping again, I sit here drinking my coffee knowing that I could go back to bed but after all this I will probably not be able to sleep! They sure make my life interesting & fun, I would be lost without them!!

I Love you Bucher & Sally

I get up at 5:00 during the week, so Noodles is fed roughly around that time. That means on Saturday's and Sunday's, he gets me up early, but I have trained him to go back to bed since these are our sleep-in days. He then lets me sleep until 8:30. (Thank goodness!)

It's the same with me. I get up at 5:30 AM for work 3 or 4 days a week. Sleeping in with Duncan is 5:45.....he wants his breakfast NOW!!!!!

The best thing about corgis - up at 5 on a Saturday morning - and a corgi cuddling nap around noon :)

It usually takes mine a couple months when we gain an hour. It is funny they do not mind being fed early when we lose an hour!

What's gonna happen to us when the clocks change back? I'm afraid that Olive won't know that she's suppose to sleep another hour!!!!! And she already gets up too early. Oh well, love her anyway!

Supposedly keeping regular sleeping hours is healthier so you could say they are taking care of you. However, anyone familiar with corgis will know that it is their breakfast service that they want. Fortunately they make it fun even if it is too early in the am!

The only time we let Torri in our bed at night is when there is a thunderstorm (she is terrified). That usually means I then wake up around 3 or 4 to put her in her bed. She's worth it, tho.

I really love this story. I live with two corgis also, and even though it means early mornings even on my day off I wouldn't trade them for all the world.
