I posted a few entries back that I'm adopting a 1yr old female Pembroke from the animal shelter. Well, this was her first day home. She was very groggy from being sedated for spay surgery. She wasn't her usual spritely hyper self, but she was still very loving. She did snap at my 4yr old Faye when she passed by. I was so surprised that Faye was so well-behaved. I praised her and pet them both at the same time. Katamari stole Faye's bed hahaha so sad.

I named her after my favorite video game Katamari Damashii which, a native Japanese speaker said, roughly translates to "lump of spirit/energy." I thought it was appropriate. I also call her "Kat" for short. It totally messes with peoples heads! :) I left her in her crate for 15 minutes so she can nap when we got home and came back to see that she's urinated in it. I'm not supposed to give her a bath until the sutures come out in 10 days. She was drenched in A LOT of pee. I tried the waterless shampoo, but it just intensified the smell. Any suggestions?

I actually bought the Furminator waterless shampoo/conditioner. That's what I used. It smells good in the bottle, though. I also bought dog wipes. Sam, the baking soda idea sounds really good. I might just do that. Has anyone tried this before? I hope it works. I wanna have her sleep with me tonight.

You should get her a doggy katamari t-shirt (I'm lame but that'd be soo cute).

Did you try baby wipes or the wipes you get at the pet store for "waterless" bathing?

Katamari is such a great name. I am sure both of them will work out her differences in no time. Then, they will be BFF. Both dogs look in great shape too. Having two is always more fun.

Awww I'm so glad you were able to adopt her. Look at poor Faye back there, ears back, looking sad. They're both so cute. :) Have you tried baby wipes to clean her off? It probably won't work if the waterless shampoo didn't, but it's really the only suggestion I've got. Maybe you could just take a (really) wet towel to her and that might work. I think you're just not supposed to actually cover the stitches in water. Wish I could help more, good luck with your new family member!

I am very excited for this new member of your family. I hope you all can work out the girls' pecking order. What's with the bed stealing? Twinkie did that right away too : ) Her name is great bye the way.
