Sick Puppy! worried!

This morning i woke up and let the dogs out like normal. I let them out did a couple of things then went to bring them in so they can eat. Rhun is always the first one in everyday, once he is done his business he always finds a spot to relax by the front door. Well today he was by the back fence laying in the grass and he didn't want to get up and come in side. When i did get him in he started doing this hacking cough like he is trying to hack up a fur ball like a cat but all that ends up happening is a cough comes out. Usually when they hear the click of the container of food open they come running but rhun just stayed layed down in the living room. Went and got him but he still wouldn't eat his food. Called the Vet and got a appointment but it isn't for another couple hours! He also has a dry hot nose, shivering, heavy breathing, and can't keep his eyes open though is is trying to fight it. I am worried sick and the waiting is making it worse, anybody have any ideas?

Comment by Kimberlie on October 22, 2010 at 12:43pm: Update. Rhun is doing much better! still not to where his sister wants (she wants to play, play, play). He vomited a bit because of an empty tummy in the wee hours this morning but he ate and drank this morning which is a huge relief. So no hospitalization. He is less lathargic and is resonding to us touching, talking and calling him. He has started to walk around a bit (small distances). His fever is also gone. his cough is a little less hacking. Hopefully his will be almost back to normal for his and his sisters 1st birthday on tuesday, have a fun day planned don't want him to miss out!
