Hi everyone, this is Sidney! Usually Mom writes these things, but today I took over the computer.

Mom's been really excited these past couple weeks, and it turns out it's becasue of this human holiday they call Halloween. She just loves the festivities!

First, she bought me a shark costume at Target. I didn't like it much, and she could tell. Here I am:

She got the idea to make me a costume herself. She wanted to turn me into an iPhone. I have no idea what that is. She called it the iCorg. Here I am wearing that:

We were both much happier with this costume.

So anyway, last Saturday was our big San Diego corgi meetup Howl-o-ween party, and I wore my iCorg. It was so

much fun! There were about 50 corgis there, and we ran all over the park. There were so many cool costumes, and my friends were there. Sadie, Maggie, Liberty, Justice, Luna, Twinkie...it was great to see my friends!

Here are some photos Mom took at the party:

That's me and Maggie. She's a cow...moooo!

Hot dogs! Not the kind you can eat though, arf arf.

Running turtles!

Me and Sadie. She's a hippie girl!

A rescue corgi

I think this guy is ready to go fight a dragon!

They gave all the humans a paper to chose their favorite costume, either best Halloween these or best home-made. Mom thougth she had a pretty good chance at the homemade prize, since it looked like everyone else came from a store. When they announced a different corgi, Mom was sad. Then they announced "best overall", which was whatever costume got the most votes overall. Me, the iCorg, won! Mom was so surprised and proud of me for keeping my costume on the whole time. I got a bucket of toys; I'll share them with my corgi friends the next time we meet for funtime at the park.

I had so much fun and I took a long nap as soon as I got home.

Later that day, Mom took me out again! It was to one of my favorite places, PetSmart. They were having a little party at the back of the store. There were cookies for humans (Mom didn't give me any!) and some other dogs that were dressed up. The people in the PetSmart clothes were looking at all of us and then they gave out prizes. I got picked for third place, behind a big pointer-type dog wearing a batman costume and a little pup wearing Woody from toy story on his back. I got to choose a toy, and I got a squeaky snake. Mom bought me a few treats since we were there anyway, and since I didn't pee inside the store. Not that I ever would, but my doggie brother Bruce does all the time. He doesn't get to go to PetSmart anymore.

On Sunday, we went out to a place that had an outdoor party going on! They were taking pictures, there were games for dogs to play and goodies everywhere. It was a party to raise money to help poor doggies and kitties that don't have a home. Mom entered me in their contest and decided enter me under "best trick" which meant I'd have to work. It's ok, I like to work! When it was my turn I kept a treat on my nose until Mom said I could take it. I was a good dog! Then she said "bang", which means I'm supposed to play dead. This time, for extra effect, I went all the way onto my back and put all four paws in the air! Everyone laughed, which meant they liked it. I won the prize and got some cookies to take home and share, and Mom got a potted plant. Mom was glad I minded her, unlike this lab dog that was pulling her human girl all over the grass! That lab needs to go see my teacher so he won't pull anymore!

Now it's one week later, and Mom took me out again! Oh boy! I got a nice long car ride with the windows DOWN! My favorite! We went to a little store that smelled so good, and it was full of all this food in bags and the best smelling treats. Mom said it was a store just for dogs and cats called Pupologie. There were people outside the store with tables covered with goodies and Mom told everyone what my costume was, in case they didn't understand that I was a doggie iPhone. There was a guy taking pictures there too, and he said I was so cute and took good pictures. It was fun and the humans were so nice. It was crowded though, and I got nervous and snarked at two dogs, one big one and one small one. Mom was not happy with me, but she knows I only do it when I feel nervous. :( She took me aside and gave me some water, and I felt better. The humans were picking costume winners, and they picked me for "most unique". If unique means handsome, I can totally understand it! Arf!  They gave Mom a bag full of fancy treats, like dried chicked and salmon, cookies of many kinds and even a big fat chewy.

After the party, we went to a place Mom likes called BevMore. She asked if she could bring me into the store, and they said yes, as long as I was well-behaved. So I had to be sure not to lift my leg on ANYTHING!  This place didn't smell good to me at all, but I was patient and when we left, Mom gave me a cookie from my goodie bag for being good in the store. Then Mom and my human sister Laura stopped to buy food for lunch, and they ate in the car and shared with me. It was chicken and rice and it was tasty. After this I was so full and tired that I've been sleeping, and just got up to write this blog-thingy. I'm going back to bed now, but I wanted to write all about my fun 2 weekends. Tomorrow is Halloween, but Mom says that day is for the humans and I have to behave and not scare the human children away when they come to our door. Wish me luck!

Sidney, it's great to see you up and about!  Wow, what a weekend!  We were without power and under snow, so lots of stuff got postponed or cancelled, but c'est la vie!  LOVE your costume!

Hey Sid,

You are a lucky guy....sure we get to run outside and visit work with Jane but we don't get to go to all those stores (at least not very often) and contests as we are sooo far out in the boonies. We took a vote and think we should trade places for a week...we promise to not scare any kids as the grandchildren have trained us well:)
