Stella's Favorite Game-Herding Tennis Balls! (A good way to tire out your Corgi puppy)

So I thought I would post about Stella's new favorite game because it has not only been good for her, but also for me since it tires her out quickly! I used to play fetch with various toys and a tennis ball, and then one day I threw all of the tennis balls from the can for her to chase. She's hilarious because she goes crazy trying to herd them--she's like a little goalie! I play this with her on the deck since I only have a small yard that is not fenced in. I walk her a lot in the neighborhood and on the Allegheny Trail, but she always seems to have extra energy (especially as she's getting older) and this game has been great because it tires her out really quickly! It's also been really good for improving her coordination--she's already been catching the tennis balls on a bounce! Anyway, I just thought I'd add this for anyone looking for another activity, especially new owners for their puppies. I'm looking forward to adding more tennis balls to see how she reacts!

Dakota doesn't bring things back either and instead will stash things under a bush in my backyard. My brother likes to chip golfballs for her to stash so he doesn't have to collect them, but I dislike that game because I worry he might hit or the hard balls will hurt her teeth.

Never thought of this game before, fabulous idea. KC does not like to bring it back either. Loves to chase it down though.

I play a version of this with Ella. She's not a " fetch and bring back" kind of a dog, so we have to come up with other games. We usually play with about 3 tennis balls at a time, bouncing or roll them across the living room. She will try to "gather/herd" them all to one area, usually under a chair or table.
Usually this will tire her out and it's lots of fun.
