Molly with her New Ball 10.17.10.JPGI do not like wet.

Mum got up so early this morning and Lily, too. I jumped right out of my bin to greet them and Mum bustled me out the door to WET! I can safetly say I DO NOT LIKE WET at all! I do not like it on my nose; I especially do not like it between my toes! When I sit down it gets on my butt and my coat sticks to my skin so that I am still wet all over even though I watch Lily shake it off and I try it and it doesn't work.

Mum bundles me into a great soft towel and laughs and rubs my coat but, despite the wonderful feeling of her soft caresses I still feel wet so I am very cross.

Mum makes her coffee but then says "It's too early" and puts me in the baby crate and she and Lily take me to the big bed. Mum puts me right by her head and Lily climbs onto Mum's chest and kisses her face. I want to kiss Mum, too, but I am in the crate so I just crab and beg her to let me out but Mum coos "go to sleep, my wee bonnie baby" and so I do and so do they.

Later. it is still early when Mum makes our breakfast and, I discover when I go outside, that it is STILL WET! (though not as much since now it is not coming from the sky -- just laying in puddles and clinging to the bottom of the chair seats and railings. )

After Mum dries us off, again; Lily takes my new ball and offers to play with me. Lily is all about bunnies and balls. She doesn't seem to mind my (Mum's) slippers or chewer or Teddy but the new ball my Auntie Diane and Uncle Dan brought me last Sunday afternoon was in her sights immediately. For a while, Mum kept it up on the table so we wouldn't squabble but now she leaves it down and usually Lily takes it. I am happy she offers to share it with me but not so sure when she curls her nose and looks at me out of the corner of her eye.

When she chases it, I run after her calling "My ball, my ball!" but Lily grumbles, "We shall see, we shall see" and pushes past me, always snatching the ball first.

Mum just shakes her head and cuddles me when I thrown myself at her and pout. Lily comes and stands near to Mum looking so innocent and sweet that Mum reaches down and caresses her neck. I don't know how to make myself look innocent and sweet but, occasionally I do it without knowing how I did it and it's the best feeling ever when Mum or Daddy pick me up and hug and kiss me.

For a minute or two . . .

I think you have the makings of a great childrens book, (you have the talent, too), I would buy it for myself!

Very cute. Ethel doesn't like rain, but loves getting wet otherwise (swimming and puddles), go figure. Her method, and she suggests this to Molly -- stalk into the yard, do the business, then sit and look pathetic enough that someone might pick you up and bring you back in, so you don't have to touch the wet grass anymore.
