It is my second Sunday at Rose Cottage and I can safely say I love it best.

I didn't think we got up too early but, perhaps, Mum and Lily did. I didn't wake them but I heard Mum say, "Might as well get up -- Molly must need to go outside" and she lifted me up and carried me to the deck door, holding me until Lily could get by to go down the stairs into the darkness.

I decided, on Wednesday, to do the song and dance my sisters and brother used to do up north. Daddy said I sang too loud but Mum reminded me that Rudy used to tell them when it was time to eat in much the same way. On Saturday she took a little video of me though it wasn't my best.

Anyway, Sundays are quiet and serene. Daddy sleeps in and its just the three of us. Lily is trying to play with me but hasn't got it quite right, yet. Mum thinks she's crabbing at me but, really, she is just teasing me.

After we eat and go outside, again, Mum makes her own breakfast and now Lily gets excited. It appears she loves toast and it is custom that she gets all Mum's crusts. I am patient, because I don't really know what toast is. But it all smells soooo good. Mum says when I have learned more manners I may have some, too.

Mum sat on the floor with us for a long time, throwing our toys about so that we would fetch them. Lily brings hers back for Mum to toss again but I like to hide mine. Mum tells me I must bring them back but I noticed that Lily was eyeing my teddy and, at one point, snatched is from me with a wicked look. Mum tried to get her to share it with me but she held on tight. Finally, Mum took it from her and gave it back to me, explaining to Lily that she had her own toys (but her ball and bunny are on the other side of the barrier).

After Mum's breakfast, Lily went out the deck door and came back in the dogdoor on the other side of the barrier. Mum threw her bunny for her a few times, then set about doing dishes and sweeping the floor. I'm not so sure about the broom. I sat quietly while it flailed this way and that across the floors but when Mum wasn't looking I found it in the corner by the basement door and tried to get it to play with me. It wouldn't and Mum finally came in and told me to leave the broom alone.

Then Mum settled into the dining room chair, crossing her leg across her knee to make a seat for me on her lap. From my perch, I could look out the deck door. Usually, there are leaves falling like rain but this morning it is calm and all golden. Every day, Daddy takes me out to the yard and we sit in the sun. I wandered along the fence, pushing my way through the leaves. I put my nose through the white pickets but I could only see through if I cocked my head. I could see cars and, sometimes, people rushing by on bikes. I liked it better to just go back into the yard and play with the sticks and leaves around Daddy's chair. This morning, all was peaceful as I watched the birds flying from tree to tree and saw a squirrel running across a wire high up in the trees.

Mum massaged my shoulders and sang me a little Scottish song about a boat on the sea. She says she is waiting until my other ear to come up to sing me another song and I can hardly wait. Mum's can make her voice loud and funny and I like to dance to it and join in the singing as loud as I can but sometimes it is soft and low and I can't help but drift away.

I love Daddy but I like it when it is just us girls and Mum coos "my sweet Lily" and 'my wee baby Molly as she sips her coffee and reaches down to referee.

I love Mollys post. I wish I was Molly! She sounds like a happy little girl, (and a lucky girl to have such a great family).
