Eddy's been doing a lot of whining while chewing lately... yay, teething. Also, for the past 2 weeks, he's been really good about not chewing on non-chew toys. Then, suddenly, 2 days ago, he started going crazy and chewing everrryythinngg. So we're going to start experimenting with some new chewies, freezing some kongs and nylabones and carrots for him, etc etc.

We have to leave him while we go on vacation!! I'm having separation anxiety. A whole week without little Eddybones to cuddle and scold and reward. Waaah I hope he remembers us when we return...! At least he'll be staying with my sister, who lives with 2 dogs he loves to play with. He's going to be so big when we get back.

I remember leaving Domino with a friend for just one day while I was out at a water park; she was so excited to play with Jasmine (the friend's dog) that she didn't even pay attention to me when I was leaving! She'll be okay. AND when you get home from vacation she'll be so tuckered out from playing with other dogs she'll be such a good cuddle buddy for you!

Something I did for my Corgi when she was teething...mostly b/c she's weird and doesn't like dog toys very much...is, I froze bottles of water (minus the label) for her, then let her chew it until it melted. Then I'd pour the water in her bowl (it was nice and cold!) and refill and refreeze! Just a thought. She's usually an outside dog and she was teething in the middle of summer, so I'm sure the cold was nice. Sometimes I'd come out to check on her and she'd quit chewing it and was just cuddled up next to it, taking a nap! LOL. :)

Note: Very vigorous chewers probably need to be closely supervised so they don't actually start to penetrate the plastic or break off little pieces or ingest anything from the water bottle. Heidi wasn't that dedicated, hers always stayed in one piece.

Hope this helps! :)

Here's a pic of her in the car with our trusty teething-water-bottle...

I don't know if I could go a whole week without my Corgi fix. I plan to take the boys on vacation with me in the future.
