So, I've applied for three-four different corgis and well got really disappointing feedback. First email I got was saying that the one dog already had a deposit on him and that he was already majority through the process of being adopted. The second email I received was about the dog had already been adopted out and that the ad was old. I feel bad because I know how badly Jonathan's been looking in to getting another corgi since he can't have the dog he wants until next year and Dodger won't have a sister or brother to share his walks with and such. I'm currently being patient and waiting to hear back from a shelter in NYC about a corgi and from a shelter in MO. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that my luck will be good and I get positive feedback within the next couple of days. In the mean time, we'll keep looking and applying and once Dodger's here then we'll keep ourselves busy with that. If anyone knows of any corgis on craigslist or petfinder then please send a link. I'd really appreciate it

If you haven't even gotten your puppy yet I would wait. It's best to add a second dog once the original dog is at least a year old, fairly well trained and you can tell what his personality will be like.

Puppies are a ton of work on their own, and adding in a possible adult rescue which could have its own issues just doesn't seem like a good idea. And as others said it is never recommended to get two puppies - they need to be socialized individually and they often end up bonding more to each other than to you.

Max is a fluffy and he's a Heronsway corgi.   You can contact Karen & Sam Baker, Crystal Corgis at crystalcorgis@yahoo.com

Karen partners with Anne Bowes of Heronsway Corgis.  Her number is 781-934-0110 or email hersonway.corgis@verizon.net

They are in MA.  I have no clue if they have any fluffies available now but they do have them in their line.  And as far as termprament...you can't ask for sweeter, smarter dogs.  Not sure who is doing rescue now for the Mayflower Corgi Club but Karen was when we got Max but she could put you in touch with whoever is.

But....I have to agree with Andrea.  Two very young pups together will have them bonding to each other.  It might be a good idea...as hard as it is...to wait awhile for Dodger to grow up a bit.

We started looking at rescue centers. We know it's going to be a long process and we're willing to wait. I'll be working with Dodger more than Jonathan will so Dodger will be bonded with me before anyone else (except maybe our kitten Pumpkin). We've had really bad luck with adoption though. Before we decided on getting Dodger, we applied at quite a few rescues and the dog either ended up getting adopted or we'd get half way through the adoption process and the rescue center would just stop getting in touch with us (even when we tried contacting them). Jonathan wants another corgi and he's considering buying Dodger's twin Digger, but I told him if we get another corgi it's going to be rescue. I checked petfinder and there's one too many corgis and corgi mixes that need a home. And I agree with you too Andrea, but Jon's up on his high-horse and has the corgi-fever. I'm hoping within time he'll calm down. But I'm keeping an eye out for a corgi/corgi mix in need of a loving home just for his sake.

Typically you should wait 18 months before adding another Corgi to your life. Corgi's are hard. They'll bond with each other and not you if you get one too soon after getting you puppy.

Are you looking to adopt from a rescue or buy from a breeder? A fluffy is going to be hard to find. The only kennel I know that has fluffies in their line is Northrun. http://www.northruncorgis.com/
She is in Central Maine. I looked into them when I was researching.
I'll watch Craigslist for you as well.
