Two Months Old - Well-Puppy Visit and Traveling!

Whoa! I can't believe the time has finally come... looking back at it. It was worth every second of the wait.

I picked my pup up on Thursday (Christmas Eve) from my breeder in Fresno. Her name is Paula Baggett with the Angelic Paws Corgis and I highly recommend her for the quality of pup and service... www.angelicpaws.net
Ahem, enough plugging.

He did great during the 3.5 hour car ride home. He did get sick in his crate but otherwise just slept and was very calm. He immediately bonded with me and did well with his food and even pottied on his pad!! The first night, of course, was terrible. He whined and slept in about 30 minute increments. I woke up around 2 AM to take him out and let him piddle, and in the morning it was found that he kept his box (and the bed in his box) clean. So that's a great start!!!

Christmas we drove up to Stockton (about a 1.5 hour drive) and he was absolutely heavenly all day. He got to play outside mostly and my friends and I helped him get his land legs and start running, fetching, all of the fun stuff.
His second night was much better... he only whined when he needed to go in the middle of the night (about 3:30, a little before the alarm I had set) and then went soundly back to bed.

Then today we had our Well Puppy exam and he passed with flying colors. He's got a bit of a belly, so the vet gave him another worming (his 3rd). Everything else looked good and we've got him on schedule for the rest of his vaccinations at 12 and 16 weeks.

I snapped a couple of shots of him and he's really a fine looking pup. He's been doing really well with people, but we do have another dog in the house and I don't think they like each other very much. Jackson sits and yips at Ever, who is an older and completely indifferent Border Collie, so, that's been a lot to handle. Otherwise, no accidents in the house. He's already leaped off my low riding couch that's maybe about a foot off the ground and I can tell he's waiting to do the same with my bed.

But he's pretty easy so far. He potties on the pad, he gets real crazy and playful after he eats, but then he crashes out. And he loves to sleep!! Which is great, because I'm learning to take my cat naps when he does... haha.

Enjoy some pictures! I'm looking forward to getting through these vaccinations and getting him out in the real world :)

Christmas day!

Hanging out in the kitchen.

In the waiting room at the vet :)
