Hi everyone! I wanted to update everyone on our progress over here. If you've seen my blog (my how time flies), you'll know my 10 month old pup and I just made the move to Southern California from San Francisco. He is adjusting so well and I think we're both really going to flourish here.
The above picture is of my workplace, which is amazing enough to…

Wow. Time has just FLOWN by over here in Jackson land. Pup is now 9 months, somewhat behaved, somewhat protective, and really just the best furry baby a gal could ask for.
Tomorrow we are packing the car and driving 7 hours to our new home in Long Beach! Jackson is fairly well traveled and seems to be easily adaptable with all the trips we've taken. But I can't help to be nervous for my little guy. There are going to be a lot of new surroundings and different experiences for him...…

My puppy is alive and well but this picture can't help but bring the song to mind from the Wizard of Oz.
I thought I would share the laughs with you guys this evening :)

Wow! What a heartbreaking day yesterday was. I suppose I might be melodramatic, but this being my first time going through this... it was tough.
I dropped my guy off at the clinic at 7:15 AM yesterday morning, and picked him up a little after 4. He's been doing so great. He was chipped, snipped, and had his last two baby teeth pulled while he was…

My, my! How time flies! Baby Jackson is a little over 6 months now and it's about time for his neuter surgery.
He's been the best (barking) dog a gal could ask for and he really is my little companion. Everyone in our neighborhood fawns over him and he's doing great with people and other doggies at our local park.
It's been a while since we've been to the vet, but I'd say Jackson is around 20 lbs now. All I know is he…

Well, the time has finally come where I've had to travel for work without Sir Pupenstein. Instead of introducing him to boarding just yet, I am fortunate enough to have a coworker that I would trust with my life... and now with my pup.
She has a Japanese Chin - so cute - of her own. I hope they are getting along!
I am picking him up later tonight, so he'll only be away for two days and one night. I want him to get used to this, because unfortunately, I'll be taking several…

It looks like we are burgeoning into a somewhat interesting period for Jackson. He is losing teeth left and right. He lost his FOUR top front teeth yesterday, and two bottom teeth last week. And the adult teeth are already growing in! I feel so bad for my little guy! Ouchie!
And on top of all of this, he's been having softer stool for a few weeks now... but recently it's started getting REALLY soft. I feel like part of this is my fault. Almost two weeks ago we flew to Atlanta, which…

Whew! This puppy raising sure has been a journey for both of us. I am happy to say that Jackson has been a real pleasure and such a good pup. We've made it to our 16 week mark!
And wow! You guys were right about growth spurts. After weighing in at 6.2 lbs at 12 weeks, Jackson is now 10.5 lbs at 16 weeks! I am so happy to see that he is growing on his own after all of my previous worry.
Today my amazing little pup got three…

Living 3,000 miles (without a car) from the town I grew up in creates some interesting challenges for me and my sweet baby pup. I decided to bite the bullet and book a flight to share my little joy with the rest of my family... and their chihuahuas.
I wanted to take advantage of his age and his size, because the only other time we'll be able to do this is when I get a car and drive cross-country... which won't happen any time soon...
Jackson is only 6.2 lbs right now and…

Today the baby Jackson, who I am completely obsessed with at this point, had his 12 week check up. My fantastic vet said he is doing simply amazing.
He had *another* wormer today and his second set of shots (DA2LPP). Our doc said he didn't event cry when he got his shot! What a good pup.
Everything is going so well with him I'm kind of in disbelief. If I spend a lot of the day/night out, I will let him sleep in my bed with me for a little while. I eventually want him to,…

Today is the first day that Jackson has gone into his crate by himself. And he's done it 4 times to nap. Makes me so happy :D :D :D
He's been home for almost two weeks! I think he definitely knows his crate is his "safe place" though I'm shaking it up a bit by getting him a bigger kennel this week. The crate I have for him now is maybe about 20" long which I admittedly bought on a whim because I needed something. But I figure now is the time, while he's still learning, to get…

Jackson has been home for about a week now and I'm really starting to learn, albeit trial and error, what works for him.
I can say so far, Jackson is about 80% angel and 20%... unbelievable yippy unrelentless little devil.
Things we have mastered:
Crate training at night - thanks to all of the advice here! He has a towel that I put over his crate to keep things a little darker and he seems to like that. Not a peep in three nights. I wake him up four or five…

Whoa! I can't believe the time has finally come... looking back at it. It was worth every second of the wait.
I picked my pup up on Thursday (Christmas Eve) from my breeder in Fresno. Her name is Paula Baggett with the Angelic Paws Corgis and I highly recommend her for the quality of pup and service...

Ahem, enough plugging.
He did great during the 3.5 hour car ride home. He did get sick in his crate but…

Baby Jackson is just growing and growing. His mother's milk dried up a little early, so he was weaned a week or two ago. He's already had his first round of shots and will be getting one more before I pick him up from my breeder. He looks so healthy and is developing his personality.
Here are some pictures of him at 6 weeks! I'm so excited to get him home and start working with him.
He lost his raccoon eyes but I'm hoping…

Today I picked out my puppy, Jackson, from my breeder. Unfortunately I had to choose from breeder pictures and personality descriptions. But, how can you really go wrong?
I went with my original heart-stealer named Tobias by the breeder. He is a very handsome sable with an outgoing and inquisitive personality. As most puppies are concerned, I think a lot of his personality will have to do with how he is raised and I am very excited to do so!!!!
Here are some face shots of…
