Wow! What a heartbreaking day yesterday was. I suppose I might be melodramatic, but this being my first time going through this... it was tough.

I dropped my guy off at the clinic at 7:15 AM yesterday morning, and picked him up a little after 4. He's been doing so great. He was chipped, snipped, and had his last two baby teeth pulled while he was under.

Jackson weighed in at a WHOPPING 22 lbs. When did that happen????

Once the anesthesia wore off, Jackson was pretty much back to normal. I was able to take his e-collar off since he could have cared less about the glue and stitches between his legs. It's like he doesn't even know that anything happened!

Today we've been dealing with a slow appetite, some pretty bad diarrhea, and an insanely hyper dog that just can't do what he wants to do.

The surgery itself looks a little funny to me. But at the same time, I know I'm not an expert at looking at fresh neuter surgeries. There is still a bump where his testicles used to be, where I can still feel two distinct bumps that felt exactly like his testicles did. Maybe I'm just being crazy and this is normal? Any suggestions would help, lol. I have pictures too but I figured I would hold off on putting them right in the blog.

We'll see how things go. I'm coaxing him to eat breakfast and am going to register him with the AKC! Say hello to Angelic Lil Hickory Action Jackson!

Ah, "the cone of shame"! It sounds like Jackson is doing fine, all things considered. I think sometimes these sorts of things are more difficult for the Corgi owner than the Corgi.

I will bet that Angelic is not part of many corgis names. Lol. Feel better soon.

He looks so pathetic with that cone on! Hope he has a fast recovery!

You guys are the best!
I hope the poo doesn't continue. I swear my neighbors must think I'm terrible. One major downside to city living is sidewalk poo... I might need to take some water out with me this time ;)
I'm going to keep my eye on it and hopefully things should return to normal. I just got home from a trip too, and baby is always so excited to see me it usually gives him diarrhea for a few days.

Ah! The joys of puppies!!! Hehe.

I remember when we had Algy taken in for his neutering. After the surgery, he would very carefully rub the ole guys on the floor to 'check' what was going on. The swelling did go down though, just like Jane said. Jackson looks pretty chipper, considering the circumstances. Way more cute than Carl Weathers too.

If the diarrhea continues you might want to think of chicken and rice. Yes, there will still be larger sac and swelling from removing the testicles. This will go down. I would check his incision but not touch it. I love all your cone head pics!

Cody still had a bump to, when the swelling goes away it'll shrink and you wont be able to notice it.
