Right now as I sit here and type this blog, I am listening to two tired dogs panting away. One would be Lance (my corgi) and the other is Marcus (pug, my sisters) Marcus and Lance have known each other since Lance was 14 weeks old, they both were born in the same year. :) Marcus turned 4 this September while Lance will turn 4 at the end of this month. I periodically watch Marcus when my sister goes out of town, but this time I called my sister up and offered to have Marcus come stay with us from Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon and she agreed, I just thought it would be nice for Lance to burn off his energy with a buddy.
Well Marcus got here today at 2:30 and have been playing non stop, except when I tell them both to calm down and take a breath!!! Poor Marcus being a pug cant breath really well and he just gets really noisy, poor guy!! I seperated them while I ran to take my daughter to piano lessons, Im sure Marcus appreciated the break. I let them back out to play when I got home after about an hour and they were back at it again. For the first time I took down the gates that blocked the living room and so they really have alot of room to run and play, usually when Marcus comes over I keep the gates up but I thought I would give them more room and it has carpeteing vs. the wood floor in the kitchen, so they can get a better grip.
Before I left, I tried getting Marcus to come to me so I could put him in the kitchen while I left, enticing him with a treat because he doesnt seem to know the word come for me. :( well Lance came running and hopped right into Marcus's bed, lol. Pugs are not as motivated by food as corgis I guess. Lance gobbles up his dinner and Marcus takes fovever in a day to eat his food, which is a pain since we need to keep it picked up so Lance wont eat it. Cant there be a happy medium between gobbling up food too fast and taking forever to eat.
It is so much fun to watch Marcus and Lance playing, kinda of exhausting too. Boys will be boys thats for sure.
