Hey guys. Ein is about 14 weeks old now, and it's like the older he gets the more his eyes water. I know a lot of things could contribute to this, but the poor kid!!

It doesn't seem to bother him, but it is already leaving tear marks down from the inner corners. His nose isn't runny, just his eyes. His eyes aren't pink or anything. In fact, they are relatively perfect. He's got kinda long black eyelashes, maybe those are falling out into his eyes? I just am constantly wiping his face clean from the tears.

Any help would be appreciated.

My Emma has tears on her face a lot too.  The vet said that her tear ducts don't empty into the nasal passages like they're supposed to, so the fluid from the eyes goes down her face.  It's not a big deal as long as you keep the area clean.  So if it's not allergies, that might be it.  Ask your vet though.

I have one whose eyes run all the time.  They don't seem to bother him;  they bother me though!  I just wipe them once a day or so with a damp cloth.

Gwynnie had a lot of that as a youngster, much more than shown in your photo.  We used hot compresses.  Wet rag in microwave ALWAYS CHECK IT CAREFULLY ON YOUR LIPS mircrowaves can create hot spots.  LAbor-intensive, but works.

It's clogged tear ducts (I think).  Eyes water a lot normally; if it can't drain thru the tear ducts, it overflows.

It eventurally stopped.

Keep wiping as best you can to avoid getting really dark stains.  The red stains are caused by yeast which feeds on the gunk that comes out of his eyes.  Yuki had horrible eye stains last year, but I found that wiping throughout the day helped to keep them from getting too dark.  He's an all-white dog, though, so it looked worse than it would have on a darker dog.

Ein will probably be at the Vet's office soon for another round of shots or a check-up and I would definitely ask his Veterinarian for his/her opinion.  It's possible that he has a mild allergy to something (food, dust, pollen, etc.) or it could be that he's genetically predisposed to watery eyes.  For what it's worth, Yuki's ended up being the result of undiagnosed hypothyroidism.  I wouldn't worry about that with Ein, though, as there would be a host of other symptoms to go along with the tears.

Maybe a mild allergy to something? Henry has runny eyes sometimes too but I'm not sure what it's from either. Sorry I'm not much help!

For the love of little green apples he is the cutest guy! Thanks for posting: my six year old boy has the same problem. I keep wiping under his eyes too. Hopefully the corgi gurus can help with advice.
