We just got home from a last minute trip to the vet. I had called Wynn in from outside where he had been for several hours enjoying the 70 degree temps and the sun. He couldn't get up and his leg was looking funny so I knew it was his back or leg. Somehow he made it to the car when I went in to get something and I lifted him in. After several times of checking his spine and legs the vet told me it was his back and to "hold his head and upper body tight. The vet moved his legs and hips every which way and really swung them to each side. He said he didn't hear anything "pop" but when I put Wynn down he was at least standing and using his rear legs. Basically the vet did some chriropractor moves and it helped. Now I have to do deep massage to his back and he said I could also use heat. They do have a people Chiro that comes to the vet office if we need to.
Is anyone familiar with Previcox? He said many times this works as good or better than prednisone.

Oh no, so sorry to hear that!!! Wynn, hope you are feeling better very soon. Love the pic, how handsome you look. Hugs to you Wynn and Jane.
I've had friends that've used Previcoxx for their pooches (corgi, GSD, labs) and it's worked great. I get Teri to an acupuncturist who also uses electrostimulation and it works wonders for her arthritis she's got in her shoulders.
Oh poor Wynn, I hope that he recovers quickly and feels better very soon!!
Jackson and Seanna take previcoxx whenever their legs act up. Works great!!
I hope Wynn feels better soon!!
Poor Wynn! Definitely avoid Prednisone if possible--too many side effects!
Is there a doggy chiro. or acupuncturist any where near you? I hope Wynn is Ok soon!
Aww... sorry he hurt his back, poor guy. I always worry about that with Ella. They have such short little legs but the courage of a lion!! I watch her leap off the chair or fly up and down the stairs and sometimes I cringe. I'm glad to hear that he feels a little better. Sounds like he's in great hands!
Previcox is in a completely different drug class than prednisone. Prednisone is a steriod where previcox is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (very similar to Rimadyl or metacam/meloxicam). I guess technically both reduce inflammation in one way or another, but for an injury previcox would probably be preferred because it reduces both pain and inflammation just like rimadyl does. I sure hope he feels better.
