Yessss!!! hes already TWO. i cannot believe it!!!! time sure does fly by. I'll be sure to give him lots of hugs when i get home, and a special hug and kiss from uncle timmy! thanks!
We did picked the name Casey cause he is from KC, MO but we are spelling it Casey. Funny cause there is a convenient store in the midwest in many smalal towns called Casey's spelled the same way!I
I mentioned to Jerry the CD to play @ thunderstorms, but he does not feel Casey gets that upset. Ha! He does get excited & wants to cuddle next me when he hears the thunder. I was told not to talk "baby talk" to him & try to ignore or downplay the situation. That is fine if the storm is not severe but if there is a tornado coming then I will get excited & stressed also!
Jerry was pleased to get together with his cousins. Hal was celebrating his 50th class reunion. Jerry is 3 years younger. Because it was Hal's class reunion he was very busy seeing & talking to his former classmates. Hal's 2 brothers who live in eastern Iowa were also @ the town celebration. Jerry is closer in age to them & therefore those guys visited more. It was a nice time & good weather. I have visited with Hal's sister many times so it was nice to visit with her again. I met Hal's wife @ their last trip to Iowa. I told Hal & his wife that you had told me you registered his brother Bill @ the last election. Yes it is a small world! Hal reported to us that it is more then 200 miles from Fortuna to San Francsico. Jerry feels that is too far for him to travel to see his cousin while I visit Sandra. I am still hoping my daughter & I can get to SF for a visit with Sandra & tour of the city. Maybe fall of 2010?
I thought you had moved from Fortuna to another small town nearby?
Meet Casey! His new name is Casey = from KC, MO. Casey is a Gaelic name that means alert & watchful. He is both! He is a good dog. He gets wild over loud & noisy things=lawnmower, sweeper, motorcycle & is very afraid of thunderstorms. We are learning about him & he is learning about us, his new home & neighborhood.
This Saturday we are planning to go to another local town's celebration parade. His cousin, Hal Hummel is coming to attend his class reunion. Jerry has not seen him in over 10 years so they hope to get together. I thought of you knowing the Hummel brothers when you lived in Ventura.
Thank you Sylvia & Timmy for your caring thoughts.
We have now decided to "adopt" a new dog. I found him @ a shelter in Kansas City. Of course, another Corgi! He is about 3 years old. We did not want to be challenged with puppy training since we are away from the house @ work week days. I felt it was too soon but Jerry says he wants to fill the void-why wait. We will be changing his name but do not agree yet! Hope to have pictures & share with everyone on here soon.
Sylvia and Timmy,
Yes, that weekend was quite exhausting for all of us. Running in a downpour was certainly a first for us, but he wouldn't have done it if I hadn't stepped to the line undaunted. Thank you for recognizing our bond and it is an honor to be a part of this "corgi" family!
With a sad heart I must report our Corgi Rascal passed to the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, June 8. The vet tested to find he was dying of stomach cancer & the tumor had burst.
Rascal will be missed. But he is no longer in any pain. We will always have our memories & our pictures.
For now we are taking 1 day @ a time, but someday you may see we have a new Corgi to share our home & lives.
Sylvia & Timmy,
Yeah, I haven't been on in awhile-the tax season ate up all my time! Thank you so much for the information about hyaluronic acid-I am definately going to give that a try! Did you try accupuncture at all? Somehow I don't think Gus would put up with that! Gus is doing o.k.-better now that the winter has passed. We take about a mile long walk every day, but one day last week (it was cold and damp) we just got as far as the end of the driveway and he wouldn't go any further. Poor baby! He is happy and otherwise healthy, though, and enjoys all the corgi things-especially snuggling on the couch! Thanks again for the info-I'm definately going to give it a try. Glad Timmy is doing so well!
Hi, it's us! I saw Timmy's picture on the My Corgi site, but didn't know it was him. I just noticed the Corgi on the redwood log and chuckled. Fun to find out that I KNOW that Corgi!
I never knew Tasha Tudor had another name! You learn something new every day. I have lots of books about her, and none of them mention her former name.
It was nice of you guys to watch and comment on Carly's First Run video. Carly certainly does have her own handling style and Monty! is "training" her. Thank God it was a positive experience! Even blowing her 2nd run, she took it like a true sport and asked when the next "try" would be. We're so proud of them both!
Monty! really loves us and always gives his best no matter what the circumstances are. What could be more "Corgi" than that?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe Bailey's already a year old! There's a dog show in San Francisco this weekend, at the Cow Palace! Too bad Bailey's not allowed, but I hope to find some cool Corgi stuff and see some awesome looking corgis!
Hello sylvia and timmy I really like the idea of a park in fortuna for dogs to go to, sounds like a great idea, been to fortuna lots of times in my past, my home town is eureka.

Is there any particular brand you use for the hyaluronic acid? I went on the web-site, and there are some different combinations. Any advice? Thanks!

Thank you for the Birthday wishes! After all these years, he's still a pup in our eyes. Stay tuned, we're sure there's more to come!
