Hi Justine, thank you for the offer to help. I actually have worked with and trained (and continue to work with) rescue dogs through volunteer experience and now for the past two years through school. The rescues in our program are often very fearful and we put hours of obedience training and socialization into them each week with both one on one and group training. With my current lifestyle and Franklin's personality, I am just not wanting to put the time into a dog that even with significant training I don't think will ever be suitable for my lifestyle. Truck was just such an anxious, fearful dog, but he was also a couch potato and just couldn't keep up to even close to our normal routine. I found him an excellent home with a quiet owner who works from home and has no other pets and doesn't do more than a couple walks a week. I have a feeling this is going to be a much better situation for Truck. He just doesn't like the hustle and bustle of a busy active lifestyle (which I am coming to find is why the original owners re-homed him in the first place) and he is aggressive towards large dogs and reacts with aggression to situations that make him uncomfortable. Not something I want in a dog, I would rather work with an overly active, untrained dog, than a dog that is mellow and fearful.

Congratulations to you, Walter and Mickey on making it into the 2012 Calendar!!!!
Hi Justine, I would be interested to foster a corgi from the puppy mill. My only concern is their health as they seem to be in such a bad condition. I'm sure Layla would enjoy a new friend in her life. Corgis seem a lot happier with a companion.
Thank you Justine for your nice comments! :) Layla's breeder is Eliseberg but she no longer breeds corgis only german shepherds. As far as I can remember my dream was to get a corgi but I never thought the bond would be so strong. She's the light of my life.` Your corgis are absolutely gorgeous! I'm not 100% vegan as I still eat fish but I eat raw as much as I can and I am in a better shape now than I was in my twenties.
Hi Justine! Sorry it took me a while to reply... I've been busy with midterms (It’s finally over!). Mia has been doing great. She LOVES the snow :D Next snow storm I will take a video of her hehe she looks like a real bunny hopping! Supper cute! How are your boys doing? I can’t wait for it to be nice outside so we can have another corgi get-together!
You have an exam on the 18th or you will be done already? I checked the weather, it should be nice and sunny that day!
I'm almost certain I met a Tuffy corgi last time at Westmount park.. who was that then? Because there was Taffy and Judy and there was also Tuffy with a lady I haven't met before.. that wasn't Diane?
Mia is doing great, fully recovered! I will definitely get her some booties for the colder days. For now she loves the snow… she likes eating it mostly… our very own high end snow shovel haha I still haven’t brought Mia to the dog park since the surgery… I can’t wait!
How are you guys doing?

lol Justine...i thought we met a "Tuffy" at the Penfield dog park. Lily the new corgi confused me! thanks for clearing up the confusion
Just an FYI...I would keep them separated for a bit and then never feed or play with toys till they get used to each other and you are right there. I believe that some issues might be pushing to fast to get them used to each other. Glad he found a temp home. Can't wait to hear more and thank you for opening your home to this girl!
