These 4 cows were where they shouldn't be...they were put in "jail" (the corrals) until we could get them loaded up in the trailer and transported where they belong. Notice the 3 of them had turned around but Corgis sent them up the trailer.

Jean, Joey had the instinct in the first place and we just worked with it. No major training involved! PLUS he learned "biting" (which is normal in Corgis) from a Kelpie dog from a friend of ours. He picked it up quick so he also helps running cows into the chute and into the head catch. Corgis normally like to "heel": cowdog Corgis use this (and they really actually bite the "heel" of the cow) to get the cows moving. Corgis have no fear, and they absolutely love what we let them do...what they were bred to do :) So Corgis have been "easy" to train because we let them do what their instincts tell them to do. :)

Some of the pack seemed to have second thought, specially when the cattle turned around. Then they decided the charge together to get them onto the truck. This is just too cool!

Thanks for the comments on my dog Joey. But remember you did all the work with him. Haaaaa That I am sure takes time and patience.

BTW Jean, a guy was here last fall and his comment was "that dog is the perfect example of what a Corgi is and what he is supposed to look like". He is awesome.

Jean , Joey is from you, thank you for such a great dog. He worked with a Kelpie that got him started with the bite. Now all of the Corgis bite from an early age and you have to slow them down....... You do not realize what wonderful dogs you raise, he is very very smart and will work till he is very very tired. Thank you

Wow, Scott what a neat group of corgi's you have and they can work. I saw it with my own eyes. You have trained them well. I love the video very much. Joey is a very pretty red/white corgi boy. Haaaaaa I loved it all

I feel like a broken record, but I just love these videos. You must be so busy so I really appreciate your taking the time to put them up.

We have lots of dairy farms around here and for the life of me I can't understand why more of them don't use dogs.
