Well we have had Bentley home for 9 days now. He just got done with his forst bath & he did WONDERFUL!!!!! (He couldnt have a bath right away from being neutuered 10 days ago). He got a bath in his special medicated shampoo that costs more than my shampoo(but he is worth ever penny of it). He is doing great taking his meds, takes them like a champ. Still working on the potty training thing but I know it takes time especially since he is 8 yrs old. He doesnt like the crate but it has to be that way right now. Bentley still wants to kill Smokey (cat). Can be kinda of scary when he gets Smokey. He has growled at Cash ( my beagle/bassett mix) but I just tell him no and he stops just thinks Cash is invading his space. Bentley goes starts his heartworm treatment on May 19. We are taking a slow kill treatment so it will be about 12 weeks of treatment. I noticed today that he has worms still(the pound said they treated him twice) so I will have to have that chcked out.He is eating like a horse so I am going to have to back of on his food so he doesnt become my overwight Corgi. He has more energy and runs a little more, but over all is a pretty laid back Corgi. He likes to wonder a bit but comes back to his name which we gave him 10 days ago since they didnt know his name. I am so lucky to have him in my life!!!!!!!!!!!! Will post some pix of his bath time.

Congrats on your new addition! He looks like an absolute sweetheart. He's so lucky to have someone like you willing to invest the time and resources to nurse him back to health and provide a loving and safe home in his senior years. Good luck with the potty training... I'm going through the same thing with the little rescue I got this weekend. I kind of forgot how frustrating the housebreaking is. I'm so happy for you both!

Rescues have a way of burrowing into our hearts! Thank you...he deserves a good home and wonderful people! I love my rescues dearly for the time they are here and they have proven to be great! I am so glad that he found you/you found him! I can't wait to see pics of him in a month or so when he realizes he's "safe" in his new home! He will just blossom!

Bev- When I saw him online for the first time I knew I had to have him no matter what. The pound kept calling me everytime they found something wrong with him & finally I said who cares I will fix it I just want him home with me. I am so glad his owners didnt claim him, they dont deserve him.

That is so wonderful that you are taking him on and giving him a chance to have a good life. So often the older ones in rescue don't get that chance.
