Hey guys! I want what is best for my pets. I would like to get my dogs a good quality dog food that isnt too expensive. I cant afford too much but I am willing to spend a little more so my pets can live a long healthy life. I fed them diamond puppy when they were puppies. I have been buying pedigree for my corgis and my labs are on diamond high maintenence. Please if anybody has any suggestions for me I will glady accept them. I know pedigree isnt very good but I have always thought Diamond was a pretty good food. If I am wrong please let me know. Thank you all.

My dogs have been on Canidae for years - they do very well. Only problem - Kai has been on the senior/overweight and hasn't lost an ounce..... Spoke with his breeder this past week about his other issues and she told me that she had switched a few years ago to Kirkland - available at Costco - and loves it! I'm gonna check that one out! Her dogs are all ages, do agility, obedience, etc and some are just plain pets!

I think it depends on your dogs digestive system. I tried feeding Comet a lot of expensive high quality food and he always had diarrhea such as Notro Natural Choice and Buffalo Blue. I switched him to Beneful Healthy Radiance and he has been doing great on it.

Also if you have different ages an all life stages(TOTW) is good as you can feed them all the same:) That's why I use it the pups through oldsters can have the same so this is much easier. All my corgis and pups get the same 1 handful 3 x's a day and my Aussie gets about 2 X's this.

the thing to consider when looking at the real price is to get an idea of the price per cup of food in a bag times the number of cups a day. some brands like wellness require vastly smaller amounts of food than do some others that are cheaper per bag.

We just got a ten year old golden retriever and moved her from dog chow to Chicken soup Senior. and its only $9 cheaper a month than wellness would be.

An example price wise is I usually buy Taste of the Wild and pay about $40.00 for 30 #'s. You can get Chicken Soup for about $35 and you get 35#'s. Just in case you were interested.

I do use Taste of the Wild and it's by Diamond foods...there are several people on here who use it. Depending on your Corgis age as the protein % varies greatly.

Sidney has done wonderfully on Rotations, but for the time being it's only available online:
