I brush my little Kirby's teeth about twice a week but still notice a build up on his teeth by the time he is due for his next brushing. I give him chew bones in between to help brush some of the build up off. I called my vet today and they informed me that it would be $134.00 to clean my Corgi's teeth. Does anyone have a clue why the cost for the cleaning is soo expensive, and if there is anything else I can do to prevent the build up?

I use rawhides all the time and started to use Greenies but she gets them rarely. I brush her teeth sometimes- or at least I try to (Brush time=one angry pup).
i use raw marrow bones, but Court's back teeth still have yellow stain
though the others are great, also use rawhides because he loves
to chew, and one teenie greenie after the last walk...
i think he's doing okay for an approx 15 month old...
but as he won't let me linger long on his mouth/teeth,
ears of nails, he'll have to go to the vet...i know they
often have to put them to sleep to really get them clean
