This weekend I made an emergency run to the vet with our 10 week old puppy. She had bloated up really bad, her stomach was hard, she wasnt acting herself, and she wasnt able to urinate when she tried. Afraid she had eaten something that caused a blockage i ran her in. Luckily only turned out being a bladder infection that was pushing on her intestines not letting the gas come out. Apparently the infection makes their poop hard to pass. We left with antibiotics, peptobismol, and an ordered diet for the week. The vet told me to feed her lowfat cottage cheese, lowfat yogurt, and broccoli with the occasional wet dog food for the week. Max being jealous of Zoey's new yummy diet of course got a tiny bit of cottage cheese added to his dog food. Turns out he loves the broccoli too. Because they like the food so much we thought about just putting them on a natural foods diet. The problem is I know they cant just eat cottage cheese and yogurt. Thats not entirely healthy. I have heard of people who make chicken and burger with veggies such a broccoli and carrots. Does anyone really know what kinds of things they need to be eating everyday to keep them healthy? What things can they eat, what things cant they eat? I'm sure we would put them on a vitamin supplement as well just to help make up for the  things they may be missing. I would think its the healthier way to go. Not only that they love it. I know it will be a lot of work but i dont mind if its for my kids =)

Are you looking for a raw diet? Joanna Kimball has some good blog posts, and I know there are a couple people on here who know a lot about it as well.

Or are you actually looking to cook all their meats/veggies?

Hi Kasey, I would encourage you to consult with a licensed professional.
