I am seriously considering the Thunder Shirt.  Has anyone tried it.  It is actually Twinkie's step- sister, Amy, that has such a hard time.

Our girls have no problem with the fireworks, but I remember reading a thread on this site about the thunder shirt....some folks love them.

I didn't even consider that Griffin would be afraid of fireworks.  We were outside at night-- he jerked the leash and almost got across the street into the woods.  Luckily I had a good grip on the leash.  I still get scared when I think I could have lost him.  Anyway, once we got back inside he sat on my lap for half an hour (something he never does).

I think it's the very large ears that make the fireworks so frightening.

I have to give Gunny some Rescue Remedy drops evey July Fourth Holiday weekend!  When our neighbors set off a lot at once I have to put him in my bedroom and then turn up the tv very loud or put on soothing classical music very loud.... we are always happy when that holiday is over! My neighbor has a year old Caton de Tulear that could care less about the noise and sleeps through it all!

I have heard about something called a Thunder Jacket that some people say helps keep gdogs calm during fireworks and thunder storms... but have no first hand info...

Thunder shirt...some said that it works for them and others.....www.thundershirt.com. Featuring a talking dog. Under fifty bucks.

I will try one...just wondering what size people have bought. I have found the Corgi body to be a bit awkward to  fit in  some harnesses...any Corgi people actually bought and used this item?

Thundershirt - yes, we use one. It has helped with thunderstorms. Lilliput is somewhat calmer, somewhat quieter with it on. She doesn't much like wearing it, but it's better than drugs, as long as the air conditioner is on. It also has the advantage over the drugs that you don't need to know an hour ahead of time when there will be thunder. But for fireworks it wouldn't help much. We'll continue with medication for that. I've followed everything I've found on this site about the shirts, but I can't recall anyone actually swearing by them.

We were able to try on Lilli's shirt in the store, and she wears a medium. She weighs 23 lbs.

I must be lucky with my Ruby she's not worried by the fireworks, she even sits and watches them from the window

You are lucky...I guess dogs are no different than kids...I hated fireworks as a kid and the rest of my sibs loved them...(I enjoy a good professional shoot  now though)...can't beat Disney!

Poor guy :(   Quincy doesn't like thunder or fireworks.  My vet has given me a homeopathic remedy that I give him 15-30 minutes before (if I have that much time, sometimes these summer thunder storms just pop up!).  It is called Phos 30c.  It is a liquid I give him 5ccs as needed.  It does work!  The trick is giving it in enough time prior to.  I do like this option much better than "drugging " him.
