That's what a friend joked anyway.

Potus had to pay a trip to the vet this morning after we discovered one of his left cordal nipples had become black. Potus being Potus, he wouldn't let us get a good look at it, so he had to go to the vet to make sure it wasn't something serious. Once there he had to be admitted to be sedated as if Potus wasn't going to let us examine him he certainly wasn't going to let anyone else.

He went in in the morning and was examined around lunchtime. Turns out the cause isn't too serious- he has black heads. The vet cleaned the big one off but has told us he will likely get a few more. We've been advised to supplement his diet with some evening primrose oil to help clear up his skin and also been given instructions to help treat the dry skin on his belly. The only big problem with the blackheads is if they get clogged- but the vet advised that Potus will become sore, or start playing with the affected area so we have signs to look out for. I guess black heads are somewhat appropraite for a almost 3 year old dog- he is in that teenage stage.

Having him sedated wasn't the cheapest process but we are grateful that it wasn't anything serious, better to spend the money and have it checked out now then wait and have it be something bad.

So just a warning for any other Corgi owners who notice black areas on their Corgi's bellies- they may just need some ProActive :D
