Do any of you cardigan owners ever deal with your under 1 year olds having the case of "lazy ears"? Mason is the only one I've ever seen...his brother and sister never do this, but sometimes he sticks his up so high that they flop inwards and rest on his head, if that makes any sense. He looks hilarious!

My corgi doesn't do this but my chihuahua definitely has lazy ears! Her ears stick up normally when she is awake and playful but when she gets sleepy they start to flop. I've never seen this happen in a dog before and it totally cracks me up. You can judge her energy level by the pointedness of her ears lol! She's almost 3, we thought that she would grow out of this but nope, looks like she just gets too sleepy to hold her ears up.

That's adorable! mason is having a similar time--normal Cardi ears during the day, slightly flopular at night when he's sleepy. I think it's because he had SEVERE hookworms around 3-4 months, and maybe earlier (I got him then and took him to the vet and he had to be dewormed 3 times it was so bad) and I think it effected his calcium intake to help his ears out..........either way, it's cute!

"flopular" is a great word!

Poor Mason! 3 treatments...wow:(
He's all better now! He was being kept in a realllyyyy low-funded shelter in the middle of nowhere Tenn, so they didn't have a vet on staff or any vaccinating except rabies. He had kennel cough and a little bit of everything, but he got out and is now healthy and an attention hog :)
Glad he is better...as for the attention hog...aren't they all????
