Since we got Enzo, at about 3 months old he has hardly left our side.  He is 2 now and has been with us at work everyday.  He has been left alone when we go out for a few hours but probably no more then 3 hours. But now we have an out of state wedding in Nov. which requires we leave Enzo for 2 days.  The anxiety of leaving him is already getting to us even though it's just for 2 days.  Anyone in Fairfield county, CT have an recommendations on a place or someone they use when leaving town?  We have plenty of time but just want to make sure Enzo is set and prepped for this break.  Any tips on how to prep your corgi on leaving them for a while?  Thanks for your tips.

It would be advisable to leave him with some he knows well.  Maybe your friend, neighbor or relative.  That would distress him the least.  You can also start by leaving him for longer period of time, like a whole day, with the intended dog sitter.  Just let him get used to it.
Agreed, you can also have an overnite trial, that will also give your friends / family time to think twice if they are capable in handling your dog. If you are going with a facility, look for reviews on yelp, a good facility usually require a trial day to assess your dog first to determine if he is suitable, some places do not take in intact males, most places requires a few shots, so bring all the records photocopy with you.
Also be sure to take some of his favorite toys and maybe a piece of clothing with your scent on it to sleep on.
I'd look for a place that has a really good doggy day care as well as boarding. In my area we have a couple of places like this and for a little more money you can have your dog participate in all the fun activities they do all day, and by night time I'm sure they're too pooped to even worry about you being gone.
Thanks for all the advice. We would love to leave him with family but everyone is going on this trip.  We got an amazing recommendation from a friend.  Enzo will be staying in a luxury suite.  He gets group time and individual playtime. His own private room with window, tv, even with a web cam we can log into. Sounds like a bit much for some but we feel he will get the more 'at home' feel this way.  We took a tour and he is booked for his stay.
Woooo how posh!  Sounds wonderful!  Enzo will  have a great vacation, too!
