Oh they are both cute....if I had room I'd take Corky but I don't:(   I can't think of anyone right now looking for a corgi.

I would call the humane society and see if they are willing to  adopt out of state and how old they think he is. My daughter lives about 20 mins from where he is and I would be willing to go meet him and bring one of my dogs if they would let me. You would have to figure out how you would get him...maybe someone could help???? I would be willing to drive  partway into IA if someone could meet up with me...lots of options but  I guess you need to find out more 1st. If I could i'd go get him and find him a home but I promised my husband "no more dogs" :( NOT even temperarily!

Sandy, it'll be best for you to wait and work with your local rescue, matching corgis with the right home is not easy, most foster dogs don't get over initial shell shock until the 1 month mark, depending on the foster home and how they house the new dog / interacting with their own pack, they may not be able to give you the most accurate assessment, always take the descriptions with a grain of salt. Everyone's dog handling ability is different, what worked for someone may not always work for you. Be patient and let the pros match you with the right one, if anything goes wrong, the dog can still go back to the rescue locally, that's why most rescues do not work with out of state adopters, besides obeying the laws, it's keeping the best interest of the dogs as first priority.

I am at work right now but will call the humane society and then get in touch with a corgi rescuer to see if she can take him.

I called and left the humane society a message asking if they would let him go to a corgi rescue and asked them to call me either way...now I will have to wait and see what they say.
