So I started taking coco on daily walks during the day and afternoon times. I realized that during our walks she poops and has loose stool. Has anyone encountered this? It is first hard then it becomes very soft. Then another time it was just completely soft.  I find it odd that it only happens on our walks. At home it's completely normal. What's the deal?  Could it be her food? She's on wellness for puppy small breed

We had this problem with Jack.  For him, switching to lamb and rice food was the answer.  Not sure why, but something in his old formula (chicken) didn't agree with him.  We had the same issue:  fine at home, fine first poop on walk, then increasingly messy.

His stools still get softer with each stop on a walk, but they are all solid now (softer, but solid) instead of runny.

Our Bella does the exact same thing....only that soft consistency when we walk her. Any other time it is formed and normal. We have been told it is because she is so excited and to not be concerned since her stools are normal otherwise. :)
Mine have loose stools on walks, at the dog park, when we're travelling. Anything that makes them all :D.

Hi Coco's mom, the deal is "exercise promotes BM", when you have a royal flush from walking, the last bits will get messy, also excitement can do that too :)

Mine had that problem when I started taking her for a walk. The vet gave her a box of Purina Fortiflora, a supplement to help balance the things in her stomach. She got much better since then. (Your might not need it at all)

And I think the age may be another factor --- Since puppy is excited and curious about EVERYTHING.

Thanks everyone for replying! She did it again today, but I'll be sure to mention it to the vet when we go again. She's healthy otherwise ;)
