Becca has been on a chewing frenzy. How long should I let her have rawhide, bully sticks etc.? I have been letting her have them for about an hour then taking them away. My last dog couldn't have consumable chews so it it all new. She also has a few beef bones and a nylabone or two. Beef tendons are her favorite and they don't smell as bad as the bully sticks.

She chews until they are gone most of the time. I'm leery of her taking in that much rawhide at once. She has one rawhide that she plays with instead of chewing. The rest are there to be conquered. She only has consumable chews under supervision. One exception, I had a migraine last week and gave her a tendon just to keep her quiet while I hid in the bedroom. I might just be over protective.

These are the antlers I usually buy. They last a very long time...I think we still have remnants from 2+ years ago.

We got antlers around that size and the dogs had eaten them completely in 3 days!

Having had to pull a rawhide out of a choking dog's throat once, I won't give rawhides.

Jack gets the runs from bully sticks, and they stink.

I've considered trying tendons, but more or less have given up on edible chews.  They are not worth the price and for a few bucks I can get a stuffed toy and let them rip the stuffing out, then let the dogs chew on them til Maddie decides (after two days or two weeks or two months) to try eating bits, then we throw them out and start over.

We have found that the odd shaped Nylabones are ok and Maddie likes them.  She figured out how to break hunks off the regular bone-shaped ones (she can also break pieces off of kongs).   The one we have now is shaped like a propeller and has lasted a couple months.

I have a nylabone made out of that same stuff that's shaped like a bone and haven't been able to get them interested in it; $10 wasted. That big moose antler at $11 lasted one day between 3 dogs. Dog chews are expensive, but then so are dental cleanings, and if I can get them gnawing on something safe (?) it really makes a difference in the teeth. It just seems like there is nothing safe and durable for corgi monster chewers.
