I would recommend attending events (confirmation, obedience, rally) and meeting breeders now. That way, when you are ready for a puppy in the future, you will already have breeder friends, and they will help hook you up with what you are looking for :)
Try not to get hung-up on appearance. The best personality in the litter might just be the one with the mismark and the floppy ear. Read-up on how breeders try to evaluate puppies' personalities. Try to decide what kind of personality suits you best.
Although the tris are gawjus (ours are tris), if you spend a lot of time in hot sun with scant shade, a pale fawn color might be cooler for the dog. The only time I have to wait for ours is in hot sun above timberline; they seek any shade they can find.
Don't overlook Corgi Rescue.
Many of the best dogs I know in the neighborhood are mutts from the pound.
I just met a guy who had a well-loved corgi back home named Indy -- because they found him in a dumpster on July 4.
Figure out who you want to spend your time with -- else you'll likely end up with somebody else -- then send out your feelers, build a network, keep your eyes and ears open, and then Luck is when Preparation and Opportunity come together.
Hi Elizabeth. The breeder that I have been talking to has two boys with very bold white sections between their eyes. They're about five weeks old right now, if you're interested.
