Cardigan Puppy Collar size

Hey everyone,

It's been quite awhile since I've posted on here but we're keeping our fingers crossed to get Alwyn a cardigan sister in the upcoming months. Was curious to know what collar size, on average, cardigan puppies typically wear? Alwyn wore a 3/4" x 10-14" (small sized) collar and he's a pembroke. Would I be correct in thinking I should purchase a collar of the same size for a pup's first collar? Any thoughts are welcome. =)

I should note that the collar I'm looking at is sized a little differently. Should I order the XS (8-12") or the S (12-16")?

I have a 12 week old cardi puppy now. We went to the store to get her a new collar and I seems that the 12" one will be too small within a couple weeks. My suggestion is to get a cheap small collar wait till the pup grows some and then order the 12-16" one. I will be buying a 16" one in a couple weeks when her neck gets a little bigger. Hope that helps.

For what it's worth I ordered a custom collar for Luke at 12 weeks and his neck was already 11.25" according to my old etsy conversation (and that's actual neck size, not collar size). And I'm pretty sure he outgrew that one by the time he was 6 months old or so. Personally I'd just buy a real cheapy one in the smaller size and be prepared to buy a new one within a month or two.
